Hawks View Vineyard
Hawks View Vineyard is a fifteen year-old Pinot vineyard situated on the Chehalem Ridge in Washington County. The property was purchased, along with the adjacent Muirfield Vineyard, by the John Kemp family in 2002. Hawks View is managed by Todd Skowrup, a viticulturist with nearly twenty years of industry experience. Todd employs low-input farming practices in this fifty-acre vineyard. First added to the Raptor Ridge blend in vintage 2003, we enjoy the rich meaty plum and sun-dried tomato notes Hawks View supplies to our Reserve and Willamette Valley blends. Our winemaker was particularly interested in Hawks View fruit because it is farmed in Laurelwood soil, utilizing some of the same clones and rootstocks that we planted in our own Laurelwood-soil estate vineyard that will soon bear fruit.
